Spearheaded by Corporate Development SVP Blake Cunneen, Endurance’s support of CURE marks a continuation of our initiative to aid issues close to the hearts of our own. The Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE) was founded by parents of children with epilepsy with a goal to encourage research on the disease, as well as to provide support and stability to families of the 65 million patients suffering worldwide.
On May 23rd, CURE hosted its 16th Annual Benefit in Chicago, raising more than $2.1 million and breaking fundraising records set in previous years, with Endurance serving as a Gold Sponsor of the event. Endurance’s contribution of $25,000 will help support more forward-thinking research to advance medical treatment for the disease, and impact the futures of the 1 in 26 Americans that will develop epilepsy in their lifetime.
Our own Blake Cunneen served as a member of the Benefit Committee along with his wife Shalee. He also participated in the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago’s Epilepsy 5K Run-Walk on May 10th in honor of his 4 year old daughter, Ella. The family raised nearly $10,000 for the Foundation under the team name, "Exercising for Ella". Read more about Ella’s story here http://www.cureepilepsy.org/stories/Ella.
Endurance looks forward to future involvement with CURE, as well as with other causes close to our people.
