BURLINGTON, Mass., November 29, 2016 – Endurance International Group (NASDAQ: EIGI), today announced its official partnership with BUILD, a Boston-based organization that uses entrepreneurship and experiential learning to equip youth in under-resourced communities for high-school, college and career success. Through this partnership, Endurance will donate $100,000 in 2017 to impact the lives of approximately 400 Boston students and empower them to reach their fullest potential by completing high school prepared for future success.
“BUILD is a remarkable organization that is making a real impact on student education and dropout rates here in Boston, with 96 percent of BUILD program seniors graduating high school on time,” said Endurance CEO & Founder, Hari Ravichandran. “We look forward to having employees in our local Burlington and Waltham offices become involved in BUILD’s mentor programs, skills-based volunteering opportunities and community events. This partnership allows us to reinforce the value of education and inspire students to leverage technology as they pursue their dreams.”
As part of this partnership, Endurance will become directly involved in supporting students on their journey from high school to college by becoming mentors in BUILD’s Student Youth Business Incubator. This program allows student business teams to work with BUILD staff and volunteer mentors from the Boston business community to learn business practices, develop plans and prototypes and practice for presentations to potential investors. Additionally, Endurance will sponsor the following BUILD events throughout the year:
“We’re very appreciative of Endurance’s partnership as their donation will help us meet the needs of more at-risk high school students in Boston by allowing us to partner with additional schools in 2017," said Ayele Shakur, Executive Director of BUILD Boston. "Their support will have a tremendous impact on our students who will benefit from learning real-life entrepreneurial skills from Endurance’s employee base.”
About 700-900 kids give up on their future and drop out of high school each year in Boston. What makes BUILD’s four-year in-school and after-school program unique is that the program targets disadvantaged and disengaged youth whom most other college-success programs will not serve. More than 90 percent of BUILD students are low-income students of color who attend schools with graduation rates lower than 70 percent. BUILD addresses dropout issues by developing an engaging, hands-on curriculum with real-life challenges and ensuring that every student has a relationship with two caring adult mentors for two hours or more every week.
This partnership with BUILD is an extension of Endurance’s growing corporate social responsibility program which is dedicated to educating and empowering the entrepreneurs of the future.
